Flex Fuel

Flex fuel vehicles are cars that can be powered by two types of fuel; gasoline or E85 ethanol. These vehicles have been developed since the early 1980's and many people believe its a great way to cut back on fuel cost. Although this may be true for passenger cars, you still may be spending some time at the pump when driving "Flex Fuel" suv's. More than 7 million vehicles have been manufactured since 1998.

What a shocker: Did you know some people own a E85 compliant vehicle and dont even know it. If you are curious to know if your vehicle can run on ethanol you can find out by doing a couple of things.

1 consult your owners manual, 2 contact your local dealer, 3 look on the inside of your door frame by the VIN

Our thoughts on flex fuel is that you wont save a ton of money at the pump, but you are doing some good to our atmosphere. We say go for it and play your part if you can.
