“Saving At the Pump”
EPA has been trying to regulate protocols against pollution for decades and decades to try and change our greenhouse effect. A technology has been developed which will help reduce the amount of smog that is produced in our atmosphere. Say hello to the hybrid. What is a hybrid? A hybrid is an electric/gas powered car that can run off battery power or petroleum. Not everyone has jumped on the hybrid ban wagon. Sure the hybrid produces less pollution but in today’s society the most important aspect of our lives is time. Many people say that the hybrid doesn’t perform the same as a gas powered auto, and that it takes to long to recharge. Not to mention you can only travel 60 – 120 miles before you will have to recharge the batteries. All those speculations may not hold true any longer. Big auto makers General Motors, Honda, and Chevrolet all have rolled out a hybrid of their own in all categories, SUV's, passenger cars, and trucks.
Many manufactures are working to improve the longevity of the batteries usage and mileage. If the batteries could last longer and charge faster maybe more people would consider buying one. Some people don’t have interest in buying one because they simply don’t know how efficient they are or if they can benefit from buying one. How these hybrids can reach 60 – 120 miles is the mixture of the gas and electric engine. The vehicle divides the usage of the gas and electricity depending on where and how you are driving. If you are on the interstate traveling the hybrid will use more gas so that it can provide a power boost when needed! The electric usage is mostly used when driving around town or low rpm. Some of the newer hybrids are equipped with generators that actually can recharge your batteries while you are driving on gasoline. You may think purchasing a hybrid maybe able to save you money with the outrageously high gas prices. Before you go out and make that purchase you’d better do a little research first. The average cost of a hybrid is around $25, 000 depending on what model you buy. Comparing the price of the vehicle and the money you will save by purchasing a hybrid is well worth the investment. Hybrids come in all shapes forms and fashions. No matter if you are a truck person, SUV, or just a car person there's a hybrid out there that can suit your needs. Take a test drive today and see for your self. We would love to here back from you about your thoughts on the hybrid. Write to info@knoxautoonline.com happy shopping. |
